Reporting Highway problems

Dear residents,
Just a friendly reminder should you discover a highways problem such as a pot hole, pavement/footpath issue, highway issue, broken drain, broken or missing signs or bollards, empty salt bins issues,faulty street lights, dead animals on the highway, dead or diseased trees on highway, trees blocking the highways, they should be reported directly to Hampshire County Council unless the problem is on Parish Council owned property. This being the correct authority to deal with the issue.
The Hampshire County Council website requires an exact location to be pinpointed on the map (otherwise the issue may not be located by the visiting inspector and cause a delay in the issue being resolved) This can be accessed 24 hours a day. It is also request a photo is uploaded, as this helps risk assess the speed at which the problem needs to be dealt with.
Should the problem be an emergency and danger to life, please contact the Police on 999 who will be able to mobilise the emergency out of hours highways team.
Hampshire Highways require contact details of the person reporting so they can contact them and ask further questions if required. This all adds to the efficiency of getting the problem resolved quickly.
