In the coming days every household will receive a letter from the Trustees of the Village Club regarding a new initiative- A Refurbishment Fund. Please read the letter, copied below and consider if you are able to help support your Club.

Dear Villager

Re: Goodworth Clatford Village Club – Fund-raising campaign

The Village Club building and grounds are much loved and used but they are very much in need of renovation and updating, whilst also maintaining the character of the building which makes it so special. The last time the main hall and snooker room were decorated was more than a quarter of a century ago and the chairs are seventeen years old. The windows are draughty and ineffective in keeping the Club warm for hirers.

The Trustees of Goodworth Clatford Village Club are looking to apply for a grant of up to £25,000 from Test Valley Borough Council’s Community Asset Fund towards capital works at the Village Club, together with other potential grants to help fund specific items. The works which we are currently planning, and obtaining quotes for, are: -

Replacement windows and doors in the Club building

Decorating of the interior of the Club building

New shed

New chairs

New curtains

Tree works

The Village Club operates as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation for the benefit of the local community. Alongside the application for a grant from the Community Asset Fund, we are looking to raise funds of £25,000 to match the funding requested which, if successfully applied for, will fund up to 50% of the costs of the renovation works.

If you would like to donate to our fund-raising campaign, all amounts, however small will be very gratefully received and will be applied wholly to the renovation works in a ring-fenced fund entitled “Refurbishment Fund”.

You can donate in one of two ways: -

  1. Payment may be made online using the following details: -
  2. Lloyds
  3. Goodworth Clatford Village Club CIO
  4. Sort code – 30-90-89
  5. Account number – 70840063
  • Reference: - Refurbishment Fund
  1. By cheque made payable to “Goodworth Clatford Village Club CIO” and delivered either to the Village Club or to Diana Heal at The Old Farmhouse, Longstock Road, SP11 7RE.

If you are a taxpayer, we would also ask you to complete the attached Gift Aid form and return this to either the Village Club or Diana Heal, as this will enable us to reclaim Gift Aid tax of 20% from HMRC to increase the value of your donation.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch via email at [email protected].

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Kind regards

The Trustees of your Village Club
