Community Orchard - Update

Orchard update: 06/11/2026

Planning has progressed at pace with the Community Orchard, with the PC approving the latest actions. We have raised a significant amount of the funds from private donations via the 'Sponsor a Tree' initiative, with nearly 70% of trees now allocated! A big thank you to all sponsors...still time and trees left to support. For those that are keen to back this project (please email the PC Clerk for details). We have also received a large amount from a development fund held by TVBC for village projects like this. We hope to hear back from a national grant scheme soon, as well as a local country store supplier on discounted stakes and ties.

The orchard will be surrounded by a deer fence to protect against damage in the early years, and the current target planting date for phase 1 (60 trees) will be in January 2027. Please email the PC Clerk if you'd like to join the Community Orchard Volunteers. Thank you all for you continued support!
